REMARKS : The top 50 finalists’ books will be archived as part of the library collection at DECK for public reference. Book design by Aneta Kowalczyk, an award-winning Polish book designer.

JULY
GRANT : Serendipity Arles Grant
DEADLINE : 7th July. Now extended to 21st July
FEE : None
AWARD : The grant will have two phases. Phase I will support 10 artists with a grant amount INR 70,000/- (approximately EUR 800)* each along with an opportunity to showcase at the forthcoming edition of Serendipity Arts Festival. Phase II will support 1 artist out of the 10 with a grant amount of INR 12,00,000 (approximately EUR 15,000)* to develop their project for Rencontres d’Arles, France in 2022.
REMARKS : This is a grant not specific to photobooks but lens based works in progress. Submissions are open to projects produced by individuals, collectives, duos, and collaborations. Applicants must be residents of countries mentioned above, for at least 5 years or more, and practicing for the same amount of time. Age – up to 45 years (as of announcement date) The call is focused on projects in progress. Applicants must submit supporting documents to outline the progress.

GRANT : artVarta Research and Publishing Grant

AWARD : The Grant will be awarded to two individuals, one each in the field of research and publishing; and the recipients will receive a grant of 100,000 rupees each.

GRANT : ALKAZI PHOTOBOOK GRANT
DEADLINE : 1st September 2020
FEE : No entrance fee
AWARD : 4 Lakh INR
REMARKS : Applicants should not hold any other fellowship or grant relating to the proposed project. This is a one-time grant for this project. Alkazi Foundation for the Arts will be credited as publisher of the first edition.
AFA will work closely with the photographer to realize the final book.

GRANT : Kassel Dummy Award
DEADLINE : 2nd September 2020- Last date to receive physical copies of the dummy.
FEE : 36-54 Euros
AWARD : First Prize will be produced by Turkish photobook printing and binding house MAS, Istanbul in cooperation with the Kasseler Fotografie Festival gUG, Kassel, Germany.
The winners of the Second- and Third Prize will get a production voucher worth 2.000 and 1.000 Euro for future projects donated also by our partner MAS, Istanbul.

AWARD : The selected project will be published as part of a series of FotoEvidence books.
REMARKS : For photographers unable to pay the entry fee, they can write a letter explaining their circumstances to BookAward@Fotoevidence.com. Email an explanation of your situation, a description of your project three to five images or link to your work. The images should be 72 dpi and 1024 pixels the longest side. If they find your project strong enough, entrance fee can be removed for the applicant. Photographers may submit two separate portfolios of up to 15 images each. A separate application and entry fee is required for each entry.

REMARKS : Only for unpublished or self published FIRST books by the author. Submission form also allows for return of books after the jury selection.

GRANT : Generator- Cooperative Art Production Fund
DEADLINE : Applications may be submitted at any time during 2020. Applications will be reviewed and replied to within 90 days from the date of application received. Successful applications will be disbursed the agreed funds within 30 days.
FEE : No entrance fee.
AWARD : Grant amounts awarded will be between USD 500 and USD 2000. An artist can only receive one bursary a year.
REMARKS : Open to all visual artists, irrespective of medium of practice. There are no limitations concerning age, region or provenance of the applicant. A rotating jury will review the applications. Applications in vernacular and foreign languages are also welcome.

JANUARY
GRANT : Vevey Images Book Prize
DEADLINE : Entries for the Vevey 2021/2022 Images Book Prize will open in January 2021.
FEE : 40 Euros
AWARD : A support of CHF 10’000.- (approx. € 9000) for the awardee.
REMARKS : Festival Images takes place in even years but Images Vevey also allocates support grants for photographic projects every other year.

GRANT : Kraszna-Krausz Book Awards
DEADLINE : January 2021.
FEE : No submission fee required.
AWARD : The Kraszna-Krausz Book Awards consist of two prizes: £5,000 for the best book on photography and £5,000 for the best book on the moving image as selected by a panel of specialist judges.
REMARKS : The authors of shortlisted titles will be invited to attend the awards ceremony in London as guests of the Kraszna-Krausz Foundation. Travel costs and two nights hotel accommodation as arranged by the Foundation (or an equivalent financial contribution) will be offered to one
representative of each shortlisted book. Books submitted must be published, distributed or available to buy in the UK.
